About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Welsh-speaking Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team on a flexible, supply basis, working in primary schools across Acrefair and the surrounding areas. If you're passionate about supporting young learners and fluent in Welsh, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the educational development of children in a supportive and dynamic environment.
As a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to classroom teachers, assisting with the delivery of lessons, and helping to create an engaging learning environment for pupils, all while ensuring the Welsh language is embedded in daily classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers with day-to-day activities and lesson delivery.
- Work with small groups of pupils or on a one-to-one basis to support their learning needs.
- Help to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with Welsh language teaching and encourage pupils to use Welsh in their interactions.
- Provide pastoral support and promote pupil well-being.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and assist with classroom organisation.
Requirements
- Fluency in Welsh is essential for this role.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (or similar role) is desirable, but not essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Enthusiastic, patient, and caring approach to supporting pupils.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
