Excelerate Energy is seeking a commercial operations analyst to join the LNG commercial team. This role will be to support Excelerate Energy’s global LNG trading team to optimise commercial activities and work with internal stakeholders on projects to support the growth of the business. As a commercial operations analyst, you will have a crucial role in supporting the continued growth of Excelerate Energy’s LNG portfolio through the planning and optimisation of cargoes and contracts, supply/demand forecasting, managing operational relationships and analysing commercial performance in conjunction with experienced LNG traders. This role is excellent for someone looking to build a career in the LNG industry and gain experience in physical commodities trading desk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Operate, schedule, and optimize Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) shipments for Excelerate’s LNG trading and supply team.
- Participate in the development of Excelerate’s annual delivery program for long-term LNG supply and sales contracts with Excelerate’s LNG suppliers and customers.
- Manage close communication with suppliers, customers, terminals, and our service providers to manage on-time delivery of LNG cargos & cargo invoicing.
- Document and correctly input operational information into relevant IT systems.
- Appoint independent inspectors and expeditors and be able to investigate matters relating to LNG quality.
- Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as front, middle, back-office, legal, shipping, finance, etc. on any operational topics to be flagged or actioned.
- Execute timely cargo invoicing, reconciliations and clearances of accruals for both external and internal deals.
- Liaise with counterparts and support the team to ensure smooth operations, avoid delays and minimize demurrage costs.
- Various ad-hoc tasks to support the trading desk.
- Background in the Gas/LNG markets or other physical commodities is a benefit.
- Experience with physical gas/LNG trading environment supporting commercial operations and/or PnL analysis for spot and term opportunities.
- Familiarity and experience with global gas markets and integrating variety of data sources– for physical and financial gas markets.
- Highly computer literate and capable with a variety of programs such as Excel, Vortexa, ICE, Entrade, Bloomberg, PI Vision and/or Python/R is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
