Care Home Quality Improvement Manager (Nurse Qualified) - London & Essex
£66,462 per annum plus £5,000 car allowance. Hours 8am-5pm Monday to Friday. Onsite role covering 16 Care Homes across London and Essex.
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Deputy Regional Operations Director, the Regional Quality Improvement Manager will lead and implement the quality strategy across the region, reviewing audit outcomes and actions with guidance from the DROD. The role supports homes and teams to improve care delivery and embed quality and well‑being.
Essential experience required
- Registered Nurse (active NMC Pin) with significant quality assurance experience in a UK care home environment.
- Proven track record in a quality management role within a care home setting.
- Demonstrable experience improving CQC ratings and leading regulatory compliance.
- Acute/hospital experience alone is not suitable for this position.
Key responsibilities
- Work with home managers to provide knowledge and support through action plans from audit processes.
- Support completion of action plans and identify further support needs in collaboration with Regional Operations staff.
- Assist Home Managers, Care Managers and clinical teams to analyse KPIs and identify trends.
- Implement Service Improvement plans for homes below standard.
- Advise on the Personhood Framework to embed continuous improvement.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to safeguarding, adult protection policies and procedures.
- Provide focused support to care homes, including on‑call, crisis management and temporary placement if required.
- Liaise closely with regulatory bodies and partner organisations.
- Advise on Infection Control policy and support external audits.
- Support nurse development through clinical supervision, observation and feedback.
- Develop and monitor Quality‑of‑care pathways from assessment to discharge.
- Support strategies across quality, safety and care delivery in collaboration with regional team members.
About you
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
- Registered Nurse qualification.
- More than 2 years clinical and care experience within a care home setting.
- Previous quality auditing experience.
- Sound knowledge of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of care and risk assessment.
- Full understanding of CQC Regulations including KLOE's.
- Car owner and full driving licence for travel across services; car allowance and business mileage paid.
