We have an opportunity for a skilled and qualified Carpenter or Kitchen Fitter with experience, to work on a special project across our Essex region of 11 care homes. You will be part of the wider, well established Maintenance Team, however you will be teamed up with a dedicated Maintenance Operative, working on the refurbishment of kitchenettes, bathrooms, as well as replacement of fire doors and other general maintenance tasks. If you have experience in electrical and plumbing works this would be beneficial to complete the jobs. You should take pride in your work and have excellent attention to detail, a positive can-do attitude who enjoys working in a client facing role offering a great customer experience for our residents.

We provide the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. - Salary: £36,400 to £38,640 per annum
- Hours: 08:00am-5:00pm – Monday to Friday
To apply for this role, you will need a full UK driving licence as well as your own vehicle to travel across the homes, however a van will also be provided for the Project Team. Mileage will be paid through expenses for use of own vehicle.
About the role of Carpenter or Kitchen Fitter:
- Assemble and install kitchen and bathroom units, cabinets and worktops
- Fit and hang fire doors
- Work to design plans and drawings
- Measure, mark and prepare installation areas accurately
- Adjust and modify units to fit around obstructions (pipes, columns, electrics, etc) ensuring precise finishes
- Measure, cut and install worktops including mitre joints
- Carry out simple plumbing connections and adjustments
- Complete finishing tasks such as painting, filling and possibly tiling
- Ensure a clean workspace is maintained
- Adherence to Company policies and procedures paying particular attention to gas, health and safety and fire policies
- Awareness of legislation with regards to property and facilities to ensure works are compliant and complete
- Always maintain confidentiality
- Ordering and checking of stock when delivered
- Work with the Home Manager, Teams and the people living in our homes
- To carry out any additional duties as may be requested
- To undertake additional training and development that would be beneficial for your own self development
What we are looking for from you:
- Previous experience and relevant qualifications in Carpentry or Kitchen Fitting is essential
- An understanding of electricals and plumbing
- Your own tools, however all materials will be provided
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Completion of an enhanced DBS (Criminal Records Check) as you would be working in the home of vulnerable adults
