An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care Home Manager to lead the teams and deliver outstanding care to the people living at our Brook House Care Home (Residential) in Cambridge. Brook House is a small, friendly 35‑bed care home with a bright, welcoming setting, offering respite, long‑term residential and end‑of‑life care. They pride themselves on making the people who live there feel special through putting their care and needs at the heart of everything they do. The home is currently rated ‘GOOD’ in all KLOE’s by CQC and is part of the Excelcare portfolio – a privately owned care home group established for over 35 years.
Hours: 8am – 5pm (Mon‑Fri)
Salary: Up to 45k
About the role:
- Leading and managing the day‑to‑day operations of the home to ensure high‑quality care delivery, compliance with regulatory requirements, and a positive, person‑centred culture.
- Providing direction, leadership, training and support to the team, ensuring the care provided meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of people living in the service, while maintaining high standards of safety, dignity, and respect.
- Fully complying with and being accountable for meeting the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.
- Embedding all company policies and procedures along with regulatory and legislative procedures.
- Responsible for the sales & marketing of the home, ensuring maximum occupancy and working within budgets to ensure profitability.
About you:
- Previous experience as a Care Home Manager or Deputy Manager, leading and developing strong teams.
- Experience working within a care or nursing home setting for older people.
- Level 5 qualification, working towards this or equivalent.
- Passion and drive to always deliver ‘outstanding’ care.
- Sound knowledge of CQC Regulations and legislation.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound business acumen and experience in managing budgets.
