Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef to prepare and cook nutritious, healthy meals for the people living in our care home
- Work according to scheduled meal plans, paying attention to individual dietary requirements
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene
- Work in a fast‑paced environment and support mealtimes with the dining experience
- Respect the choice and preferences of the people we care for
- Check kitchen equipment and report any concerns or faults to the Chef
- Understand Health & Safety, particularly Basic Food Hygiene, COSHH, safe moving and handling, and work within guidelines relating to cross infection
- Experience of cooking for large numbers
- A passion for preparing and assisting with fresh, tasty, homemade food
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering and hospitality, or qualified by experience
- Two years' experience in a catering environment
- One year experience in managing a kitchen
Remuneration and Benefits
- 13.45 per hour
- 24 hours a week - Part Time 8am to 2pm
- Work alternate weekends; 28 days holiday including bank holidays
