As a Team Leader, you will work alongside and mentor a team of Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times. You will report to the Home Manager and collaborate with ancillary teams and other Senior Care Assistants within the home. You will engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect. Your involvement with creating person-centered care plans and risk assessments will be key to successful care delivery, requiring regular updates and reviews.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and support Care Assistants to deliver high-quality care.
- Report to the Home Manager and coordinate with ancillary teams.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities.
- Create and review person-centered care plans and risk assessments.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect for all residents.
- Maintain accurate records and support team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Team Leader with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care, OR three years’ experience without an NVQ.
- Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks – Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Desirable knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia.
- Desirable experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e-MAR system.
- Enthusiastic, inspiring, caring, and passionate about delivering care.
