Excel Truck Group is seeking a professional with extensive diesel truck knowledge to join their team as a Technician Trainer. This is a specialized role that can be based out of our Chester, Chesapeake, or Roanoke shop while supporting and providing training to our technicians throughout Virginia. If you have extensive diesel truck knowledge, this is a career you need to explore. It is highly preferred that this trainer is a certified Freightliner expert with engines and chassis. This role does require up to 50% travel, or at least 2 weeks a month to conduct training classes.

Job Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of training duties primarily supporting our Diesel Technicians, Service Department, and our customers in the area of truck and fleet repair, maintenance and Diesel Technician development and manufacture certification.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and conduct technical training material, a classroom agenda and certification programs.
- Assess training needs and partner with dealership Service Managers to create training paths for our Technicians.
- Establish and deploy training schedules.
- Ensure that all our dealerships are meeting the training schedule and requirements of our OEM’s.
- Work with our Service Managers and Senior Leadership to establish a training path for our Diesel Technicians.
- Excellent communications skills and able to present material and complete the learning process.
- Train new technicians on the many processes.
- Structure presentations to support the delivery of training material.
- Promote cooperation and teamwork.
- Train and maintain certifications necessary as ongoing technician training and development.

- Perform repairs as a Technician during available time outside of his training responsibilities.
- Must have your own tools.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
