Excel Resourcing is recruiting experienced HGV Technicians, Mechanics and Engineers for ongoing contractor assignments with leading fleet operators, logistics companies and commercial vehicle workshops across Manchester. We have long-term contracts available for skilled engineers looking to maximise their earnings while enjoying the flexibility of contract work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV fleets
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
  • Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Fault finding using diagnostic equipment
  • Repairing engines, gearboxes, braking systems, suspension and electrical components
  • Completing work in line with DVSA and manufacturer standards
  • Ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Engineer
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
  • Experience working on trucks, trailers or municipal vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Own tools and transport
