An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing and repair work on a fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This role would suit someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and associated equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical systems
  • Complete vehicle inspections in line with legal and compliance requirements
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are recorded accurately using workshop systems and documentation
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and identify potential defects before they become major issues
  • Perform vehicle road tests where required before and after repair work
  • Follow workshop procedures relating to parts usage, warranty processes and stock control
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure vehicles are returned in a safe and roadworthy condition
  • Handle workshop equipment, tools and customer assets with care at all times
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
