The Role
We are currently recruiting for a General Yard Labourer to join a busy yard in Doncaster. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role, primarily based outdoors. You will be responsible for helping to keep the yard clean, tidy, safe and well maintained. The successful candidate will need to be physically strong and willing to get stuck in, with a good attitude towards manual work. The role involves regular lifting, cleaning and general yard duties, and you must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning and maintenance of the yard
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
- Manual handling and lifting
- Moving materials and equipment around the yard
- Assisting with general yard maintenance
- Supporting the Shift Supervisor with day-to-day tasks
- Following site health & safety procedures
- Working outside in varying weather conditions
- Carrying out any other general labouring duties required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Physically fit and capable of heavy/manual work
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable and punctual
- Hard-working with a positive attitude
- Happy to carry out cleaning and general labouring duties
- Able to follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor
- Health & safety conscious
- Previous yard, warehouse, labouring or outdoor work experience would be beneficial, but attitude and work ethic are more important
