The Client: Our client is a leading electronics and electrical manufacturer with decades of experience in delivering top‑quality electronic assemblies. They specialise in PCB assembly, cable assembly, electro‑mechanical assembly, cabinet integration, panel build, and full product build services for OEM customers across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the USA. They’re trusted to handle complex, high‑stakes projects with precision.
The Job: With a full Job Spec available on request, the Senior Quality Engineer will:
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IECEx standards through effective internal and external audits.
- Develop and review quality documentation, including Quality Standards and Inspection Instructions, to align with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials and manage supplier non‑conformances, driving timely corrective actions.
- Lead the creation of process flow diagrams and quality plans for new product introductions (NPI).
- Maintain and enhance First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) systems for robust product validation.
- Track concessions, non‑conformance reports, and customer complaints, ensuring effective resolution.
- Analyse departmental KPIs and drive data‑informed improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to embed quality from concept to production.
- Provide technical support to Quality Inspectors and promote a culture of quality across the organisation.
The Person:
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Recent experience in a Quality role within manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, especially ISO 9001.
- Experience with internal and external audits, FAI, and PPAP.
- Proficient in structured problem‑solving techniques (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
