We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Van Driver to join a well-established company based in Newcastle. This role is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. Working mainly across Newcastle and surrounding County Down area, this role offers consistent daytime hours, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to join a highly respected business.

Shift Pattern

  • Week 1: Monday to Saturday, 5:30am – 1:00pm
  • Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday, 5:30am – 1:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial van in line with all road traffic laws and company procedures
  • Complete multi-drop deliveries efficiently and accurately across Belfast City Centre and surrounding areas
  • Plan and follow the most effective delivery routes
  • Load and unload pre-boxed goods safely and professionally
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules or delays
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or delivery issues immediately

Requirements

  • Full UK Category B Driving Licence essential
  • Minimum 1 year’s commercial driving experience
  • Strong knowledge of Belfast City Centre and local surrounding routes
  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and highly organised
  • Professional attitude with excellent timekeeping
  • Good awareness of vehicle safety and basic maintenance checks
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Consistent daytime shifts supporting work-life balance
  • No heavy lifting – handling pre-boxed goods only
