My client is seeking an experienced Lead Compliance Manager to oversee all compliance matters across their Northern Ireland operations. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the business meets evolving regulatory requirements while supporting its growth and sustainability ambitions.

Responsibilities
- Take overall ownership of compliance across multiple divisions, including wholesale, retail, foodservice, and licensed trade.
- Monitor and embed new legislation (e.g. Windsor Framework, deposit return schemes, alcohol and excise regulations, sustainability reporting).
- Develop and update policies and procedures to ensure robust compliance frameworks.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to implement best practice processes and maintain accurate records.
- Provide strategic input into business decision‑making from a compliance perspective.
- Oversee audits and support Finance with legal and statutory obligations.
- Lead and develop the compliance team, driving accountability and fostering talent.
- Deliver ongoing training and clear communication to colleagues on compliance responsibilities.
- Represent the business with regulators, industry groups, and trade associations where required.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in business, law, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proven track record in managing compliance within retail, wholesale, or alcohol environments.
- Knowledge of excise duty regimes (duty paid/deferred) and regulatory frameworks.
- Skilled at building relationships and influencing at senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including policy drafting and report writing.
- Detail‑focused, logical, and proactive in approach.
- Passionate about raising standards and driving continuous improvement.
