Excel Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced and reliable Class 1 HGV Driver for our client based in Newry.
If you're a Class 1 Driver looking for a role that offers Monday–Friday working, £16.27 per hour, paid overtime and an excellent benefits package, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
With45 hours per week, overtime paid at x1.5, twice-yearly bonuses and 31 days annual leave, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with an established transport operation that genuinely invests in its people.
Responsibilities
As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers, while providing a professional and friendly service.
Key responsibilities include
- Safely operating a Class 1 HGV vehicle
- Loading and unloading goods
- Ensuring loads are secure and all relevant paperwork is completed
- Planning routes and ensuring deliveries arrive on time
- Checking goods and obtaining customer signatures
- Maintaining the security, cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle
- Communicating any delivery or vehicle issues to the relevant manager
- Providing excellent customer service and representing the business professionally
- Working safely and following all relevant Health & Safety procedures
Requirements
- Clean HGV Class 1 licence
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Valid Driver CPC
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Good knowledge of the North and South of Ireland road network
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and positive approach to work
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Competitive hourly rate
- 45 hours per week, Monday–Friday
