Excel Recruitment is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Driver for a permanent, full-time position with our established client in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Class 1 driver looking for a secure, long-term role with a reputable transport company, competitive rates of pay, a modern fleet and overtime opportunities.

We're looking for a reliable and experienced driver who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety and compliance, and is committed to providing a professional service to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with Driver's Hours, tachograph and transport legislation.
  • Check that all loads are properly secured before setting off.
  • Complete deliveries safely, efficiently and within agreed delivery times.
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately and report any problems or delays.
  • Follow customer site rules and all health & safety procedures.
  • Always maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Minimum of 2 year's HGV driving experience.
  • Previous experience driving articulated vehicles within a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Good understanding of Driver's Hours, tachograph requirements and transport legislation.
  • Good knowledge of the Northern Ireland road network is highly beneficial.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively and follow planned routes.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and professional approach to driving.
