Excel Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced and passionate Head Chef for a renowned bar & restaurant in Belfast city centre. The role leads the kitchen of a well-established venue known for fresh, locally sourced food and excellent customer experience.

The Role

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards in food quality, presentation, hygiene, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and motivate a team of six chefs
  • Oversee all kitchen operations in a busy city centre venue
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food quality and consistency
  • Develop and deliver fresh, seasonal menus using local produce
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen budgets
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and health & safety regulations
  • Train and support junior kitchen staff
  • Work closely with front‑of‑house management to ensure excellent service

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high‑volume environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Passion for fresh, locally sourced food
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Flexibility to work five days out of seven, including weekends
