The Job: With a full copy of the spec on request, the Single Skilled Engineer will: Be responsible for performing planned preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, as well as repairs, refurbishment, installation, and upgrades to plant and services, with the view to minimise downtime and ensure that all equipment is maintained in optimal condition. Focus on driving continuous improvement of all machinery and equipment to effectively reduce engineering downtime, ensuring high levels of plant availability, efficiency, productivity, and product quality at all times. Be responsible for executing all engineering work to the highest standards of engineering quality, safety, and hygiene. Engage with employees at all levels on site and work closely with different departments, particularly Production Operatives and Engineering Managers, as needed. The Person: Hold a qualification in either: Engineering City and Guilds or ONC (Electrical or Mechanical) or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or Apprenticeship followed by practical experience 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. (Electrical) Minimum 2 years' experience as a technician or skilled engineering craftsperson Hands-on experience gained within an engineering function Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approach to implementing solutions and preventing issues from recurring. Willingness to engage in self-development and training as needed. Consistently works to high standards and can prioritise tasks based on workload. Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced technical environment. Low-level management experience is a plus. Good decision-making abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Capable of working as part of a diverse team or independently when required. Proficient in using Microsoft Office for report writing.
