Excel Primary Care has an exciting opportunity for a Part time Medical Receptionist to join our friendly GP Practice based in Skelmersdale. Experience of General Practice or NHS work is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided. The role of the Medical Receptionist can at times be very demanding, so we are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, is highly organised and good at multi-tasking.
Working days: Monday to Friday with a mixture of morning and afternoon shifts, 30 hours per week. We have 3 sites to cover and your shift will be a mixture of all 3 sites. We open late on a Tuesday evening until 8:30pm, this shift would be worked on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job:
- Operation of telephone system
- Management of appointment systems
- Management of manual medical records
- Preparation of consulting rooms
- Start and end of day opening & closing procedures
- Use of all computer systems
- Scanning of correspondence onto medical records
- Referral processing to other healthcare providers
Qualifications:
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a GP Practice
- Experience using EMIS and Docman
