As a Mechanical Estimator & Bid Manager, you will prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical services packages, including HVAC, refrigeration, pipework, plumbing, and associated systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysing tender drawings, specifications, schedules, and client requirements.
- Carrying out detailed take-offs, cost build-ups, and analytical assessments.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering.
- Maintaining accurate pricing records, cost data, and benchmarking.
- Managing the full bid process from opportunity identification through to submission.
- Preparing, compiling, and submitting compliant tender documentation.
- Coordinating inputs from internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Attending site visits, surveys, and pre-tender meetings.
- Managing post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and communications.
- Ensuring effective and structured handover of successful bids to Operations, including scope, pricing assumptions, risks, and exclusions.
CANDIDATE INFORMATION:
You will have proven experience in mechanical estimating within building services, small works, maintenance, and Hard FM environments. You should possess:
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and installation.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously with minimal supervision.
