Exceed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Third Line ICT Support Engineer to join our Aberdeen Head Office. This is a hands-on role within our ICT Managed Services team, acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues while maintaining critical infrastructure and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the final escalation point for complex technical incidents
  • Manage and resolve major incidents, including root cause analysis
  • Maintain core infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, M365)
  • Administer virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Support and manage network infrastructure, security, and connectivity
  • Monitor backups, disaster recovery, and system performance
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and deployments
  • Automate processes and improve system reliability
  • Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Participate in on-call rota and out-of-hours support

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in a 3rd line or senior infrastructure role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, and Group Policy
  • Experience with virtualisation and cloud platforms
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing)
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell essential)
