Job Description:
- Correct design of highly complex formwork/scaffolding solutions (shop, assembly and fabrication drawings) and/or delegating design tasks to team members.
- Accurate preparation of material lists.
- Correct preparation or approval/checking of internal structural calculations and auditable calculation reports (considering local design codes) ensuring team members contribute to these tasks.
- Communicate with other departments (Technical, Sales, Operations, Yard etc) and participate in technical negotiations, coordinating efforts across the team.
- Active participation in technical meetings/negotiations with clients and sales.
- Technical contact person for Customer, to manage technical queries, and/or change requests that lead to variation orders.
- Design utilising key Value Based Pricing items and available stock.
- Align with operations on delivery times, portfolio and material availability.
- To have a proactive responsibility and awareness of technical solutions to sites and manage the entire lifecycle of projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery whilst staying within agreed tender parameters (price/timelines/material value etc).
- Lead and mentor project-based teams for large-scale or complex projects, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed effectively, fostering their development and ensuring they contribute effectively to projects.
- Design, pricing and technical support in \’Offer Creation\’ on advanced solutions.
- Utilise digitisation tools provided to increase productivity, Quicksolve etc.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of formwork experience.
- Professional registration with ECSA, or to be eligible for professional registration (Pr. Eng, or Pr. Tech. Eng).
- Work experience in the construction field.
- Experience in RFEM, Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Tekla, is an advantage.
