- Maintain, review and continually improve the documented Food Safety Management System to ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, relevant legislation and customer requirements.
- Lead the Food Safety Team in line with FSSC 22000 requirements and facilitate monthly team meetings.
- Coordinate and document hazard analysis, risk assessments, and HACCP plans.
- Together with the rest of the Technical team, facilitate internal and external audits, including certification and customer audits.
- Support cross-functional teams with food safety and quality training and awareness.
- Collaborate closely with production, NPD, technical teams to identify and mitigate food safety risks.
- Investigating customer complaints and providing feedback.
- Assist with Occupational Health & Safety System implementation in collaboration with the Technical Manager and external consultant.
Qualifications:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification (B.Tech in Food Technology or B.Sc in Food Science).
- At least 4 – 5 years technical experience in an FSSC 22000 certified (or equivalent, e.g., BRC, IFS, ISO 22000) food production environment.
- Food Safety Management System training from a recognized external institution.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both factory floor staff and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with the Woolworths FPI system is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements is advantageous, but not essential.
- Willingness to work Saturdays on a rotational basis as part of the technical team.
- A driverβs license and own transport are essential.
