Data Governance Consultant Rate: £600–£650 per day Outside IR35 Duration: 6 months with likely extension options Location: Hybrid, 1–2 days onsite per week in either Bristol or London, Security Clearance: DV Clearance Required We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Consultant to support the identification, assessment and onboarding of strategic data sources into a secure and complex data environment. Working with business stakeholders, technical teams, SMEs and information assurance specialists, you will ensure data is prioritised, governed and integrated in line with operational, security and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities * Identify and assess data sources against business, technical and operational priorities. * Develop data onboarding roadmaps, schedules and implementation plans. * Review data-sharing arrangements, security classifications, legal constraints and access requirements. * Produce DPIAs, handling instructions and supporting information assurance documentation. * Coordinate onboarding activity across technical, governance and stakeholder teams. * Track progress, risks, dependencies and key decision points. * Establish sustainable governance processes for future onboarding and changes to data access, ownership or policy. * Support continuous improvement across data management, accessibility and compliance. Required Experience * Strong experience in data governance, data management or data onboarding within secure or regulated environments. * Good understanding of data sharing, information assurance, data protection and compliance. * Experience producing DPIAs and related governance documentation. * Proven ability to assess, prioritise and onboard complex data sources. * Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams. * Familiarity with data catalogues, data mesh or enterprise data platforms
