The Company
Exance Services Limited is a specialist MGA focused on construction and property insurance. We work with brokers and other intermediaries to deliver expert underwriting and tailored products under our delegated authorities. As we grow our presence in the construction and property market, we are looking to appoint an experienced Retail Insurance Broker to work directly with clients and place business through Exance and selected partner markets.
The Role
As a Retail Insurance Broker at Exance, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of construction and property clients, delivering high-quality advice and placing tailored insurance solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of commercial clients, primarily within construction, property, and related trades
- Advising clients on risk exposures, coverage requirements, and appropriate insurance solutions
- Placing business with Exance and other insurer/MGA partners, negotiating terms and premiums
- Building long-term client relationships, with responsibility for renewals, mid-term adjustments, and retention
- Working closely with Exance underwriters to structure risks effectively and achieve optimal outcomes for clients
- Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to growth through referrals and networking
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a client-focused insurance professional with strong technical and commercial capability, including:
- Experience as a Retail Insurance Broker, Account Executive, or Client Manager within commercial insurance
- Strong knowledge of construction, property, or related commercial insurance lines
- Proven ability to advise clients and place risks into the market
- Confidence dealing directly with business owners, directors, and senior decision-makers
- A commercial mindset, balancing client advocacy with sustainable underwriting outcomes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, professional approach suited to a growing, specialist business
