Occupational health Technician in Luton

Location: Luton & Barnet Area (Field-Based) | Full-Time, Permanent

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Occupational Health Technician to join our expanding team.

This is a field-based role involving regular travel to client sites across the Luton and Barnet areas, with occasional use of our Mobile Screening Unit. As a key member of our team, you will support the delivery of health surveillance programmes and wellbeing initiatives, acting as a trusted on-site representative of UKIM and ensuring an outstanding client experience at all times.

Previous Occupational Health Technician experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

As an Occupational Health Technician, you will deliver a range of health surveillance and wellbeing services in line with UKIM protocols, industry standards, and best practice.

Your duties will include:

• Conducting health surveillance activities, including audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, and other agreed screening programmes.
• Undertaking HAVS (Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome) Tier 1 and Tier 2 assessments.
• Delivering health screening and wellbeing assessments, including:
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Height and weight measurements
• BMI calculations
• Supporting the identification and management of workplace health risks and occupational hazards.
• Maintaining accurate, confidential, and timely occupational health records.
• Ensuring all occupational health equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose.
• Escalating abnormal findings, clinical concerns, safeguarding issues, and fitness-for-work concerns in line with company procedures.
• Building and maintaining positive client relationships by providing a professional and customer-focused service.
• Supporting service improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of occupational health services.
• Travelling regularly to client sites and occasionally operating from the UKIM Mobile Screening Unit.
• Previous experience working as an Occupational Health Technician.
• GCSE/O-Level education or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT and administrative skills.
• Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Experience conducting health surveillance activities such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, or health assessments.
• Experience driving ambulances or working within a healthcare setting.
• Understanding of occupational health services and health surveillance programmes.
• Knowledge of workplace health, wellbeing, and health and safety practices.
• Experience supporting employee wellbeing initiatives.
• Familiarity with occupational health equipment and screening processes.
