About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
Women's Health First Contact Physiotherapist to join our Primary Care team.
This role combines expert Musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment with Women's Health and Pelvic Health expertise, providing patients with direct access to specialist physiotherapy without needing to see a GP first.
You will assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, helping patients receive the right care at the right time while supporting GP practices and reducing pressure on primary care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose MSK and Pelvic Floor Dysfunctionconditions at first contact.
- Provide expert advice, rehabilitation and self-management support.
- Request investigations and make referrals where appropriate.
- Manage pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions, including pelvic girdle pain and pregnancy-related back pain.
- Support postnatal rehabilitation and return to activity.
- Assess and manage pelvic health presentations within scope of practice.
- Support women experiencing menopause-related musculoskeletal symptoms.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, Midwives, Practice Nurses and specialist services.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
- HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
- BSc (Hons) or MSc Physiotherapy.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification MSK experience.
- Strong clinical reasoning and autonomous decision-making skills.
- Postgraduate training in Women's Health or Pelvic Health Physiotherapy.
- Experience managing pregnancy-related and postnatal conditions.
- FCP Roadmap Stage 1 and/or Stage 2.
- Member of the POGP
