Payroll Apprentice to join our Payroll Team in Horwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in payroll, gaining hands-on experience while supporting the processing of multiple payrolls across the business.

Working alongside experienced payroll professionals, you will learn the end-to-end payroll process and develop valuable skills in payroll administration, compliance, reporting, and employee support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Payroll Apprentice, you will

  • Support the Payroll Team with the full end-to-end payroll process.
  • Assist with calculating and processing employee wages, absences, overtime, and deductions.
  • Help administer employee benefits processed through payroll.
  • Upload and reconcile pension data.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries, escalating complex matters when required.
  • Support the processing of statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, PAYE, and National Insurance.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within Payroll and HR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, company policies, GDPR, and data protection requirements.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the wider HR Team when required.
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.
