Psychology and Psychiatry Swansea ExamWorks Partnerships Nov 4, 2025. Ad-hoc hours contract only. Hourly rate £75-£100. Location: You will carry out assessments at your nearest clinic, with over 250 locations across England and Wales, you'll cover clinics, an hour from your doorstep.

About you:

As a Clinical Psychologist, you don't need any experience in the Medico‐legal field as this will be trained as you complete the assessments. However, you do need to have worked as a Clinical Psychologist with patients in varying degrees of mental health, for 12 months. You must be registered on the HCPC for the same amount of time under 'Clinical OR Forensic Psychologist'. The position is evaluation and assessment only, so you should have excellent assessment and administration skills, with a strong understanding of psychological assessment tools. You should have knowledge and hands-on experience in 121 therapies, CBT, EMDR or similar cognitive treatments, with children OR adults or both.

The role:

You will be asked to carry out evaluations on both as a requirement of the role, whilst you will not implement treatment, you will recommend diagnostic and prognosis, with the best and most suitable course of therapy. The cases are a mixture of Medco legal/personal injury cases and crime-related OR immigration cases. You will be working on behalf of insurers, courts and solicitors in assessing individuals on their mental health and capacity to stand trial, face deportation or to make a personal injury case. You will assess, express clinical overview of prognosis, diagnosis and referral for treatment. As above, this is an evaluation and assessment only role, you will not be offering any form of treatment directly, however must be skilled in the knowledge of treatments provided to those with conditions such as PTSD, sleep deprivation, anxiety, flashbacks and depression.

Further detail and essential requirements:

Reports are written up by legal secretaries, most cases are low value, and you will only validate the report from the backdated accident, therefore this involves very little admin. Patient health records are available for your preparation, as well as the generalised anxiety disorder form, you will only need to backdate medical records to the recorded incident or offence.

Terms of business and requirements of the role:

  • Our client are a panel provider, you will only work as and when an instruction in your remit and area is available.
  • Commuting: All experts will be required to meet with patients on site at the nearest clinic provided to your address.
  • Expenses: Fuel expenditure is paid over a certain mileage.
  • Proof of qualifications: Diploma, Bachelors or Masters.
  • Indemnity insurance: You must be prepared to cover your own indemnity insurance, up to 5 million and the policy must include Medico legal.
  • ICO certified or willing to apply for this, to work as a self‐employed or sole trader.
