We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and organised Subcontract Ledger Clerk to join a well-established and growing organisation within the building services and maintenance sector. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive finance team, with strong prospects for long-term progression.

The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring subcontractor invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. You will also support job costing processes, maintaining accurate financial records across systems. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process subcontractor invoices accurately, ensuring correct job costing, CIS details, and retention deductions
  • Manage invoice approvals to ensure payments are only made once authorised
  • Set up new subcontractor accounts and support onboarding processes
  • Run weekly payment schedules in line with agreed payment terms
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation
  • Reconcile subcontractor statements
  • Handle subcontractor queries both internally and externally
  • Issue monthly CIS statements and assist with related queries
  • Support the wider finance team to ensure smooth departmental operations

  • Strong administrative and IT skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel (including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, IF formulas)
