Growing significantly over the last few years and has ambitious growth plans to double in size in the next 4 years. To support our continued growth we are looking for a Pylon Painters to join our team. Key Roles and Responsibilities As a Transmissions Service Operative, your responsibilities will include: * Painting and Rigging Electrical Tower Pylons for the National Grid Contract and other Power distribution Networks. Candidates should have previous experience working on transmission/distribution towers and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of procedures for maintaining Safety from the System. Works will be undertaken on various structures of towers; voltage ratings range from 33/66/132/275/400kV. * Competency to receive a client Safety Document and adhere to the instructions detailed therein (training provided if required) * Completion of a site risk assessment and other relevant documentation and the ability to work to company RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements) * Tower rigging works – Installation and removal of fall arrest ropes & associated materials (normally to a height of 65m or less, although not limited to) * Application and removal of portable drain-earths to dead conductors (including following the Drain Earth Control system) * Tower defect identification and reporting * Personal Protective Equipment use & inspection (fall arrest & tower rescue systems, training provided) * Map reading to ensure agreed routes to work locations are followed exactly * Quality Assurance works associated with transmission tower painting including: * Visual inspection of completed preparation and painting works with minor rectification where required * Use of a Paint Inspection Gauge (PIG) to determine paint Dry Film Thickness (DFT). * Photographic record of acceptable work standards. * Completion of relevant QA certification. * Ability to follow standards identified by client specification Person Specification: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes: * Previous experience working on transmission/distribution towers and be able to demonstrate good knowledge of procedure for maintaining safety from the system * Able to Climb and be comfortable working at height * Problem-solving skills * Strong decision-making ability * A thorough understanding of Health & Safety, adhering to Health and Safety rules, including ensuring PPE is worn at all times * Ability to work alone as well as part of a team * Reliable and trustworthy * Great communication skills * Proactive and take pride in what you do A Disclosure and Barring Services check will be carried out
