I’m currently working with a leading consultancy within the infrastructure and utilities space that is looking to appoint a Director-level professional with a strong background in Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone operating at, or ready to step into, Director level who wants to play a key role in shaping strategy, leading high-impact projects, and driving growth within a forward-thinking organisation. The business is flexible on location, with national travel expected, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who isn’t tied to a specific base and is comfortable operating across multiple regions.

The Opportunity

This role will see you leading on major programmes and frameworks within the drainage and wastewater planning space, with a particular focus on DWMP delivery, strategy, and advisory. You’ll work closely with key clients across regulated sectors, providing high-level insight, leadership, and innovative solutions. You’ll be instrumental in influencing long-term planning strategies, improving asset performance, and supporting clients through regulatory and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and development of Drainage & Wastewater Management Plans (DWMPs)
  • Provide strategic advisory services to clients across the water and infrastructure sectors
  • Take ownership of high-value projects, ensuring successful delivery in line with time, cost, and quality expectations
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships at a senior level
  • Support and lead business development activities, including bids, proposals, and framework growth
  • Drive innovation in asset management, data utilisation, and long-term planning strategies
  • Mentor and develop junior and senior team members, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class solutions

About You

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) within the water sector, with a strong focus on drainage and wastewater management
  • Proven expertise in DWMP (Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning)
  • Experience operating at a senior or director level within consultancy or a regulated environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience contributing to business growth and strategy
  • Ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable with national travel and flexible working arrangements
