Example Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected property consultancy that is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful, multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the public and private sectors, including commercial, residential, education and other complex developments. You'll play a key role in managing projects from inception through to completion while working alongside an experienced team of property professionals.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of quantity surveying services across multiple projects, ensuring exceptional service is provided to clients throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, detailed cost plans and cost databases.
  • Producing high-quality tender documentation.
  • Managing pricing documentation throughout the tender process.
  • Analysing tender returns, negotiating contract sums and preparing cost breakdowns.
  • Providing commercial advice during the early design stages, including whole-life costing.
  • Managing multiple projects to ensure delivery against agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Applying risk management principles and producing regular commercial reports.
  • Administering post-contract procedures, including variations and interim certificates.
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts with contractors.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the surveying team where appropriate.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with current construction legislation and industry best practice.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or be actively working towards Chartership.
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant quantity surveying software.
  • A valid CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Good understanding of current construction, health & safety legislation and associated industry regulations.
