Our client, an industry-leading building engineering services provider with over two decades of proven success, is seeking a talented HVAC Technical Engineering Manager to join their expanding team. The Role
Reporting directly to the Director, the HVAC Technical Engineering Manager will take responsibility for leading and developing a multi-discipline engineering team, including mechanical, plumbing, heating, gas and HVAC engineers. You will oversee the delivery of planned preventative maintenance, reactive works, and small projects across a diverse portfolio, ensuring compliance, safety and high-quality service delivery.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to coordinate engineering resources effectively, and the confidence to provide expert advice to engineers, office staff and clients. You’ll play a key role in optimising performance, maintaining standards, and elevating customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering team to deliver safe, compliant and reliable building services
- Oversee mechanical, plumbing, heating, HVAC and gas disciplines across the portfolio
- Prioritise workloads and allocate resources to meet operational demands
- Provide high-level technical support and mentoring to internal teams and third-party contractors
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance records for all assets
- Work closely with the Director to improve system performance and engineering outcomes
- Support a variety of engineering projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets and standards are met
- Prepare and complete quotations for maintenance works
- Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for clients
Requirements
- A strong track record in a similar engineering leadership role
- Significant technical knowledge across HVAC systems and building services
- Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent hands‑on engineering experience
- Experience working with complex, public or listed buildings (desirable)
- Ability to remain calm, clear‑thinking and reliable under pressure
- Strong communication skills—capable of advising, negotiating and leading confidently
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) is advantageous
- Highly organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Clean UK driving licence and clean DBS required
