Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (40 hours per week)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (dependent on experience & qualifications)
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Contract Manager to oversee a mixed portfolio of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance contracts valued at circa £2m across both public and private sector clients. This is a key role within our Maintenance Department, offering the opportunity to take ownership of long-term, profitable contracts while ensuring high standards of compliance, service delivery, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of M&E maintenance contracts (~£2m value)
- Oversee both direct labour and subcontractor performance
- Ensure contracts are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with KPIs
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as key escalation point
- Monitor and manage WIP (Work in Progress) effectively
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety and contractual obligations
- Attend client meetings and represent the business at senior level
- Support and challenge engineering teams on performance and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement across contract delivery and profitability
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial contract management within M&E or building services
- Technical background desirable (Gas, Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or Electrical)
- Proven track record managing long-term maintenance contracts successfully
- Strong understanding of commercial performance, budgeting, and WIP management
- Confident managing client relationships at all levels, including senior stakeholders
- Process-driven with a strong focus on compliance and operational efficiency
- Strong IT skills, including CAFM systems, Microsoft Office, 4PS, and Sage
- Comfortable balancing operational delivery with commercial and strategic oversight
Benefits:
- Salary £55k–£65k depending on experience
- Paid monthly on a 1/12th basis (last Wednesday of each month)
