Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a large, well-established organisation that has recently secured a major Legionella contract, alongside additional commercial contracts across the South West. Due to this growth, our client is looking for an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer who can operate autonomously, represent the business professionally, and play a key role in the long-term development of the contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants stability, responsibility, and a genuine pathway into Account Management with the backing of a large company.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering Legionella compliance services across a varied portfolio of sites, with a strong focus on the Somerset Council contract. This is a standalone role, requiring someone confident in both technical delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274
- Cold water storage tank inspections, cleans, and disinfections
- Water temperature monitoring, flushing, and remedial works
- Producing clear, compliant reports and action plans
- Acting as a site supervisor where required
- Attending client meetings and representing the business professionally
- Providing basic quotations and identifying opportunities for additional works
- Supporting the development and long-term success of key contracts
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically competent, confident working independently, and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor and/or Water Hygiene Engineer
- Strong knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274, and Legionella compliance
- Experience with tank inspections and cleans
- Full UK driving licence
- Professional, confident communicator
Desirable:
- Experience supervising works or managing sites
- Comfortable attending client meetings
- Ambition to progress into an Account Manager role long term
- Experience within local authority or large commercial contracts
