The Opportunity
Our Client is a well-established and growing provider of water hygiene and water treatment services, supporting a wide portfolio of commercial clients across the UK. Due to continued growth in the South West, they are looking to appoint an Account Manager to manage and develop key client relationships, ensuring compliance, service delivery, and revenue growth. This is a great opportunity for someone already working within the industry who wants to move into, or continue within, a client-facing and commercially focused role.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing clients while also identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and grow accounts. The role sits between operations and sales, requiring an understanding of both technical water hygiene services and commercial account management. You will regularly meet with clients, carry out reviews, and ensure services are delivered to a high standard while identifying further business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- The role involves managing and developing a portfolio of water hygiene and treatment clients across the South West, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring a high level of service delivery.
- You will identify opportunities for additional works, upgrades, and contract growth, conduct client visits and review meetings, and work closely with internal teams to ensure works are delivered effectively.
- You will also be responsible for providing quotations for remedial works and additional services, supporting contract renewals and negotiations, and ensuring all services align with ACoP L8, HSG274, and water compliance standards.
- Accurate record-keeping of client interactions and pipeline activity is also required.
Requirements
Applicants should have experience within the water hygiene, Legionella, or water treatment industry, along with a background in account management, sales, or business development. A good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274 is essential, along with strong communication and relationship-building skills. Candidates should be commercially aware, able to identify growth opportunities, and hold a full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Experience pricing remedial works or service contracts would be beneficial, as would a technical background as a Water Hygiene Engineer or Risk Assessor. Existing client relationships within the South West region would also be advantageous.
Key Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will be client-focused with a proactive approach, highly organised, and confident in both technical and commercial discussions. They will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and driven to achieve results while maintaining high service standards.
Package
The role offers a competitive base salary, along with a bonus or commission structure, company car or allowance, pension, and mobile phone and laptop. This is a long-term opportunity with clear scope for progression within a growing business.
