We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a major Finance Transformation programme focused on the implementation and enhancement of Finance Sub-Ledger capabilities within a leading financial institution.

This role will play a critical part in bridging Finance and Technology teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, understood, and translated into effective solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, IT, Data, and CFO stakeholders to deliver complex regulatory and accounting change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering workshops with Finance, Technology, Data and business stakeholders.
  • Elicit, document and manage detailed business and functional requirements that meet agreed Definition of Ready standards.
  • Analyse existing finance processes and support the design of future-state operating models.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure requirements are understood, prioritised and successfully delivered.
  • Map business requirements to proposed technical solutions, ensuring end-to-end traceability and completeness.
  • Support Finance Sub-Ledger implementation activities across the full project life cycle.
  • Assist with test planning, test execution and validation of Finance Sub-Ledger solutions.
  • Work closely with Finance stakeholders throughout daily, monthly and year-end financial reporting processes.
  • Support data analysis activities, including large-volume finance data investigations and reconciliations.
  • Ensure solutions meet finance regulatory reporting and accounting requirements.
  • Prepare and present findings, recommendations and progress updates to senior Finance and CFO stakeholders.
  • Essential Experience & Skills The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Strong understanding of financial services products and their associated accounting treatments.
  • Knowledge of finance regulatory reporting requirements and finance data obligations within banking or insurance organisations.
  • Proven experience working as a

Business Analyst on at least two Finance Sub-Ledger transformation or implementation programmes within a financial institution.

  • Extensive experience facilitating workshops and gathering requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Hands-on experience performing data analysis using large datasets, including SQL or similar query-based tools.
  • Experience supporting end-to-end testing of Finance Sub-Ledger solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to map business requirements to solution designs and identify gaps or risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex finance and technology concepts to senior finance leaders and CFO-level stakeholders.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Banking or Insurance sector experience.
  • Experience working on Finance Transformation, General Ledger or Finance Architecture programmes.
  • Knowledge of Finance Data Models, Data Governance and Controls frameworks.
  • Familiarity with finance platforms and sub-ledger solutions used within large financial institutions.

This is an initial 2 month contract with scope to extend by at least another 6 months.

The role is on-site 4 days in Central London and is INSIDE IR35.
