About the Role
Exalto Consulting are working with a large client on a Customer Experience Programme and are looking to bring in experienced .NET Developers. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on maintaining, enhancing and improving business-critical .NET applications. You will work across established ASP.NET, .NET Framework and C# codebases, helping to keep key systems stable, secure and aligned with changing business needs. The role will suit someone comfortable working with legacy applications as well as supporting modernisation activity. You will investigate production issues, improve code quality, contribute to refactoring and support planning for migration towards newer .NET technologies and architecture patterns. You will work closely with business analysts, testers and stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver enhancements and support application updates with minimal disruption to users.
What you will be doing:
- Maintaining and enhancing legacy .NET applications using ASP.NET, .NET Framework and C#
- Building, supporting and improving APIs and application services where required
- Investigating and resolving production issues through root cause analysis and debugging
- Implementing sustainable fixes to improve application reliability, stability and maintainability
- Working with business analysts, testers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver updates
- Supporting application modernisation by refactoring legacy components and improving code quality
- Contributing to migration planning for newer .NET technologies and architecture approaches
- Delivering changes in a controlled way to minimise disruption to business users
What you will bring:
- Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting .NET applications
- Good experience with C#, ASP.NET and .NET Framework in legacy or established application environments
- Experience maintaining and enhancing business-critical systems
- Ability to debug complex issues and perform root cause analysis across existing codebases
- Understanding of secure, stable and compliant application development practices
- Experience working with APIs or application integrations would be highly beneficial, particularly for the API-focused role
- A pragmatic approach to refactoring, improving code quality and supporting technical modernisation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with analysts, testers and business stakeholders
Useful experience:
- Experience in financial services, customer experience, regulated or business-critical environments
- Exposure to application modernisation or migration from legacy .NET platforms
