Enterprise Data Architect
My London/Leeds based client is looking to recruit an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the evolution of enterprise-wide data architecture, enabling trusted analytics, AI innovation, and business transformation across a global professional services organisation.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define the strategic direction for data architecture while managing and mentoring a team of Data Architects.
Working closely with Enterprise, Business and Integration Architects, as well as Data, AI, Engineering, Product and Security teams, you will create the architectural foundations that enable scalable, governed and reusable data products, platforms and AI capabilities.
Within this role, the Enterprise Data Architect will
- Define and drive the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy and roadmap aligned to business priorities and AI ambitions.
- Own the target-state data platform architecture, including data products, metadata management, lineage and governance frameworks
- Establish enterprise standards, reference architectures and best practices across data modelling, integration, semantic layers and AI-ready data assets
- Lead architecture governance and provide strategic guidance for data, analytics and AI initiatives.
- Champion modern data product operating models, embedding ownership, stewardship, life cycle management and accountability.
- Partner with security, legal and governance stakeholders to ensure compliance, privacy, auditability and responsible AI practices.
- Build strong relationships across technology and business functions to influence investment decisions and shape future platforms and capabilities.
- Lead and develop a team of Data Architects, fostering architectural excellence and continuous improvement.
Technically the Enterprise Data Architect will possess the following
- Significant experience in Enterprise Data Architecture within large, complex organisations.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data modelling, governance, metadata management, MDM, data quality and stewardship practices.
- Experience designing and implementing data product operating models and driving adoption across federated teams.
- Expertise in modern cloud data platforms, lakehouse architectures and AI-enabled data ecosystems.
- Experience collaborating across Enterprise, Solution, Business, Security, Cloud and Integration Architecture functions.
- Strong leadership experience, including line management, coaching and building high-performing architecture teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing
