We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer to join an EMEA Business Intelligence team on an urgent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and optimising SQL based data warehouse and Master Data Management solutions. This role will involve building and maintaining SQL Server objects, supporting data pipelines, improving data quality and ensuring product, customer and vendor data is consistent and accessible across business systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and optimise SQL Server objects including views, stored procedures, functions and ETL staging layers
  • Maintain and enhance enterprise data warehouse structures, with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability
  • Support MDM initiatives, including data model design, domain logic and data quality rules
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to validate business logic and improve data flows
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows using SQL or tools such as Alteryx
  • Create and maintain BI datasets and extracts for reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Produce clear technical documentation for data models, processes and integrations
  • Troubleshoot data, performance and integration issues with IT and business teams
  • Contribute to improvements across data pipelines, data quality and delivery processes

Required experience

  • Advanced SQL Server development experience
  • Strong knowledge of stored procedures, query optimisation, indexing and tuning
  • Data warehouse experience, including dimensional modelling
  • Experience with MDM concepts and data structures
  • ETL development experience, ideally with Alteryx
  • Experience supporting BI and reporting workloads, ideally Tableau
  • Ability to design efficient data models for analytics and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail, especially around data quality and issue resolution
  • Able to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively

Desirable experience

  • SAP or similar ERP data structures
  • Data governance frameworks or data catalogue tools
  • Data quality assessment, monitoring and remediation
  • Batch scheduling, workflow orchestration or performance monitoring tools
  • Version control and SDLC experience, ideally TFS

This role would suit a SQL Developer with strong data warehouse and MDM experience who can work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver stable, scalable and well-documented data solutions.
