IT Director Salary: £100,000 Location: Bedford / Hybrid, with travel across Bedford, Derby, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham Working pattern: Typically 1–3 days per week on site, with flexibility We are working with a growing UK business that is looking to appoint an experienced IT Director to lead its technology strategy through the next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a strategic leadership role focused on shaping the future technology roadmap, supporting business growth and improving how technology enables the wider organisation. The business has a small technology team, the focus is less on day-to-day IT operations and more on strategy, transformation and future capability. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead the overall IT and technology strategy. Own the ERP roadmap following a recent NetSuite implementation. Support future mergers and acquisitions, including technology due diligence, systems integration and post-acquisition integration. Lead technology-enabled business transformation across the organisation. Develop the use of data, reporting, automation and emerging technologies to improve business performance. Strengthen cyber security, IT governance, resilience and risk management. Oversee key technology suppliers, systems and investment decisions. Work closely with senior leadership to ensure technology supports commercial and operational objectives. Support the development and future growth of the internal technology team. Experience Required Previous experience operating at IT Director, Technology Director or senior Head of IT level. Strong ERP experience, including strategy, implementation, optimisation or consolidation. Proven M&A technology experience, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration. Demonstrable experience delivering technology-led business transformation. Broad understanding of IT strategy across applications, data, cyber, infrastructure and automation. Comfortable operating in a growing and changing organisation. Strong senior stakeholder, commercial and leadership skills. Experience within an acquisitive or fast-growing organisation would be particularly relevant, as would exposure to construction, engineering, utilities or infrastructure environments. Exposure to areas such as AI and emerging technology would be useful but is not a core requirement. This role would suit someone who is comfortable operating strategically while remaining close enough to the technology to understand how systems, data and platforms can support business growth
