Exalto Consulting is supporting a major industrial organisation in the search for an experienced PI System Specialist to deliver the consolidation and migration of AVEVA PI environments. This is a hands-on technical role covering architecture, migration, integration and stabilisation across secure OT and IT environments. You will help move critical PI services into a target architecture while protecting data integrity and minimising operational disruption.
The Role
You will take ownership of key engineering and migration activities across the AVEVA PI System landscape. Working within a structured programme, you will configure platform components, migrate data and applications, validate end-to-end integrations and support the service through transition and hypercare. The right person will combine deep PI expertise with practical experience of secure industrial networks, cross-boundary integrations and complex platform migrations.
What you'll Be Doing
- PI System Engineering
- Install, configure and commission AVEVA PI System components
- Work across PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Interfaces and PI Vision
- Reconfigure PI services and applications to align with the target architecture
- Migration & Consolidation
- Lead end-to-end migration of PI AF databases while preserving structures, hierarchies and references
- Migrate PI Analytics, event frames, PI Vision dashboards and displays
- Move applications between environments with minimal downtime and operational impact
- Clean up and reprocess archives, including removal of divested assets, tags and historical data
- Integration, Security & Data Integrity
- Design and implement PI-to-PI interfaces across network and security boundaries
- Configure and migrate OT PI Interfaces, including flows between OT DMZ and Level 4 environments
- Apply PI identity, access-control and security best practices across multi-tier environments
- Execute Data Archive backup, restoration and validation activities
- Validate integrations and data flows end to end, including third-party PI Collectives
- Operational Support
- Support post-migration testing, validation, troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Resolve incidents during transition and assist users throughout migration and hypercare
- Produce clear system configuration, migration and operational documentation
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven delivery of AVEVA PI System implementations and migrations
- Strong hands-on expertise in PI Data Archive, Asset Framework, PI Interfaces and PI Vision
- Practical experience of PI-to-PI architectures, data migration and archive management
- Strong experience across integrated OT/IT environments and secure network boundaries
- Ability to work independently and deliver within a structured technical programme
Desirable Experience
- Large-scale PI consolidation, separation or divestment programmes
- Third-party PI Collectives and complex cross-environment integrations
- Industrial network segmentation and architecture, including the Purdue Model or ISA-95
