Cybersecurity Engineer - Surrey (2-3 days hybrid) - Up to £80,000 Exalto Consulting is partnering with a well-established international organisation seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing technology team.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on security professional who enjoys solving problems, designing practical solutions, and taking ownership of projects from initial requirements through to implementation and ongoing support.
The organisation is investing heavily in its security capabilities and Microsoft technology estate, with several key initiatives planned across Azure and Microsoft 365.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping shape and deliver these programmes while supporting the wider security function.
Working closely with technology, infrastructure, architecture and business stakeholders, you'll be responsible for assessing security requirements, identifying appropriate solutions, developing implementation plans, and ensuring successful delivery through to go-live and beyond.
This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and is comfortable taking ownership of security initiatives from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities Assess technical and security requirements across infrastructure, cloud platforms and business systems.
Design and recommend security solutions that balance business needs with effective risk management.
Produce technical proposals, solution documentation and implementation plans.
Lead projects through planning, deployment, testing, go-live and ongoing operational support.
Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver secure and practical outcomes.
Support security monitoring, incident response and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to security architecture reviews and technology roadmap discussions.
Ensure security controls remain effective across both cloud and on-premise environments.
Projects You'll Help Deliver There are several strategic projects already planned, including: Microsoft Intune deployment and optimisation, supporting MDM and MAM capabilities.
Microsoft Purview and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) implementation and enhancement.
Ongoing development of Microsoft 365 and Azure security controls.
Improvements to monitoring, detection and response capabilities across the security estate.
What We're Looking For We're interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate experience of: Assessing technical requirements and translating them into practical security solutions.
Proposing, planning and implementing technical security controls and platforms.
Managing projects through implementation, go-live and ongoing support.
Working within Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
Microsoft security technologies such as Intune, Purview, Defender, Sentinel or Entra ID.
SIEM platforms, incident response and security operations.
Security frameworks including Cyber Essentials, NIST, CIS Controls and ISO 27001.
