We are looking for a contract Enterprise Network & Security Engineer to build, support, and secure large-scale enterprise network and security platforms across on-prem, data centre, and cloud environments. This is a 3-6 month contract, £500pd, outside IR35, with 2 days a week in Manchester. Ideally you will be based in the North West.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and support physical and virtual network infrastructure.
  • Administer and support firewalls, switches, and network security tooling.
  • Support BAU operations, incident response, problem management, and change activity.
  • Manage lifecycle, patching, and security hardening of network and security assets.
  • Contribute to secure-by-design network architecture and technical standards.
  • Support hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity and SaaS integrations.

Technical experience required

  • Strong background in enterprise networking and security.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting firewalls and switches.
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as WAF, SIEM, PAM, and hybrid cloud security.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical network platforms.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, PCI-DSS) beneficial.
