Exalto Consulting is recruiting a SQL Server & C#/.NET Developer for a role focused on the systems that sit behind warehouse operations and ecommerce order flow. This is a hands-on position where good engineering directly affects stock accuracy, order visibility, and day-to-day operational reliability. You will work on the data and services that connect internal platforms, ecommerce channels, and logistics partners—making sure information moves correctly, quickly, and safely.
What you will be responsible for:
- Designing, building, and supporting SQL Server databases and data structures
- Writing and maintaining T-SQL (stored procedures, functions, views) with a focus on performance and reliability
- Developing C#/.NET backend services and internal tools that support operational processes
- Building and supporting integrations using REST and SOAP APIs
- Creating and maintaining ETL / data synchronisation processes across systems
- Supporting high-volume transactional data (orders, stock movements, inventory updates)
- Working closely with operational teams to troubleshoot issues and improve how systems support real warehouse workflows
- Integrating with courier and shipping APIs (for example DPD, DHL, Royal Mail)
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience with SQL Server, including performance tuning and optimisation
- Strong experience with C#/.NET (either .NET Framework and/or .NET Core)
- Experience building and supporting API integrations (REST/SOAP)
- Familiarity with warehouse and inventory processes (picking, packing, dispatch, stock control)
- Exposure to ecommerce platforms/marketplaces (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, Magento, WooCommerce)
- Comfortable working with Git and team-based development practices
Desirable:
- Experience with WMS/ERP environments
- CI/CD experience (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Cloud exposure (Azure or AWS)
- Reporting / BI experience (e.g., Power BI)
- Messaging/queueing experience (e.g., RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus)
What success looks like in this role:
- Data stays consistent across systems and channels, reducing manual fixes and stock discrepancies
- Integrations are stable and observable, with issues found and resolved quickly
- Warehouse and ecommerce teams can rely on the systems during busy periods
