Marketing & Communications Consultant Engagement: Contract (Part-time, 2–3 days per week) Duration: 2 months Rate: Up to £525 per day (Inside IR35) Location: Remote/Leeds (on-site 2 days per month) Exalto Consulting is supporting a major organisation in the search for an experienced Marketing & Communications Consultant to help communicate the value, achievements and capabilities of a growing digital programme. This is a hands-on communications role focused on turning complex programme activity into engaging, accessible content for senior, professional and wider stakeholder audiences. You will work closely with programme leadership and subject matter experts to identify strong stories, create high-quality collateral and guide content through review and approval to publication.

The Role

You will take ownership of key marketing and communications activity across the programme, developing clear messaging and compelling content that increases awareness, showcases outcomes and supports upcoming milestones and capabilities. The right person will combine excellent storytelling and content development skills with strong stakeholder management, visual presentation capability and experience navigating structured corporate approval processes.

What You'll Be Doing

Develop engaging marketing and communications collateral that clearly explains programme capabilities and benefits Identify and develop compelling stories, case studies and content showcasing achievements and outcomes Turn complex technical and operational information into clear, concise and accessible communications for different audiences Draft articles, presentations, briefing materials, case studies and promotional content for internal and external publication Manage content through internal review, governance, approval and sign-off processes, responding to feedback and driving material through to publication Develop clear and consistent messaging that increases programme awareness and understanding Support communications around new capabilities, milestones, successful implementations and benefits realised Advise programme leadership on opportunities and channels to increase visibility and reach Create reusable communications collateral that can continue to be used beyond the initial engagement What We're Looking For Essential Experience Strong marketing, communications or content development experience within a complex organisation Excellent written communication and storytelling skills Ability to turn complex subject matter into clear, concise and engaging content Experience developing communications for senior and professional audiences Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders and subject matter experts Experience taking content through corporate governance, review and approval processes Ability to work independently, identify opportunities and quickly turn ideas into polished outputs Strong PowerPoint skills with a good eye for visual presentation Desirable Experience Experience working in a large public-sector or similarly complex regulated organisation Experience marketing digital products, platforms or transformation programmes Experience developing case studies and benefits-led communications Experience communicating technology-enabled change to non-technical audiences Personal Attributes An excellent storyteller who can find the compelling message within complex programme activity Proactive and able to spot communications opportunities rather than waiting for a brief Comfortable working at pace and producing high-quality material quickly Diplomatic and persistent when navigating multiple stakeholders and approval processes Curious and able to quickly understand a complex digital programme Focused on celebrating achievements while keeping communications credible and evidence-based Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary client and supplier team About Exalto Consulting At Exalto Consulting, we focus on placing experienced professionals into roles where their expertise has real impact.
