EXALT is ready for its next chapter - and we need someone to own the numbers that write it.

We're a fast-growing drinks brand seven years in, with a shiny new production facility in Wood Green, revenue up 30% year on year, and we're ready to bring finance in-house and build it properly.

Enter you: our first in-house finance hire.

You'll own the money end to end, plus the grown-up stuff nobody else owns - contracts, insurance, payroll, people admin - which is exactly how you become a Financial Controller who understands the whole business, not just the balance sheet.

That's the deal: you keep us sharp, we grow you into our FC. Processes tighter than our bottle caps, forecasts fresher than our juice, and a seat at the table from day one.

Started in 2019 by our co-founders who couldn't stand another bland protein shake, EXALT went from an idea to filling the shelves at Selfridges, Ocado, Planet Organic and Peloton.

We've even scored partnerships with big names like Nike, Represent, Gymshark & Lululemon.

Oh, and let's not forget, we're the Official Sports Nutrition Drink Supplier to Tottenham Hotspur & Brighton (in total, we supply 35% of the Premier League teams behind the scenes).

Squad goals, honey!

  • Own the books end to end: invoice coding, bank recs, AP/AR, credit control and supplier payment runs - the ledger is yours, and it will be immaculate
  • Run month-end: management accounts, accruals & prepayments, balance sheet recs and a monthly pack for the founders that tells us what's actually going on
  • Own cash: weekly cash flow forecast, payment prioritisation, and early warning when the numbers need a conversation
  • VAT returns and compliance - filed right, filed on time
  • Run payroll and pension submissions for the team
  • Build and improve our budgets and reforecasts with Charlie & Dan - by channel (DTC, Amazon, wholesale, partnerships), not just one big number
  • Wrangle the data behind the numbers: Shopify, Amazon and 3PL reconciliations, so revenue and stock actually tie
  • Margin & COGS analysis: know what every bottle costs and where we're leaking pennies
  • Be the commercial brain in the room: pricing, promo and partnership decisions get better when you're in them
  • The grown-up admin nobody else owns: contracts, insurance renewals, R&D claims, company filings, people admin - the stuff that turns a finance manager into an FC
  • Work with our external accountants on year-end and stat accounts
  • 3+ years' experience in a finance role, ideally in FMCG, ecommerce or a consumer brand
  • Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) - we'll support your study, you bring the ambition
  • Happy owning the ledger end to end: invoice coding, bank recs, AP/AR, credit control - no task beneath you, no board pack beyond you
  • Experience running or supporting month-end: management accounts, accruals, balance sheet recs, VAT returns
  • Confident with Xero (bonus points for Shopify, Amazon or 3PL data wrangling)
  • Cash flow awareness - you understand that profit isn't cash, and you can help us forecast both
  • Sharp attention to detail: you're the person who spots the £15k fridge coded as office equipment
  • Curious beyond finance - willing to pick up contracts, insurance renewals, payroll and people admin as you grow
  • Clear ambition to step up to Financial Controller as EXALT scales
  • Brings start-up spirit & flexibility, ready to jump in wherever needed

Join us, and you're signing up for more than just a job; you're grabbing a stake in the business with share options.

Startup life can mean longer hours when necessary, as it's all about getting things done, not just clocking in and out.

You won't be a mere cog in the corporate machine, but a vital part of a passionate, hardworking team who also know how to have fun.

If you're not up for the intensity and rewards of startup culture, this might not be the juicy role for you!

  • Based at our London headquarters in Wood Green - minimum 3 office days a week
  • Hybrid options available once you're bedded in - but we're a team that likes to collaborate in person
  • Generally 9am-6pm, with flex around month-end and busy periods
  • Join a rapidly growing startup: 30% YOY revenue growth
  • Salary of £55k. Pay review after 3 months, rising to £60k - because we put our money where our mouth is for passionate and committed team members
  • A genuine growth path: Finance Manager today, Financial Controller as we scale - with the title and pay to match when you get there
  • Coaching and support from a board with serious financial pedigree - including alumni of Black Rock, Citi, Findlay Park, Atlantic Equities and Built for Athletes - mentorship most FCs at big firms never get
  • After your probation, you'll have equity options making you a shareholder of the business and integral to its success
  • Performance-related cash/equity bonus options (Who doesn't like a little extra?)
  • Health, dental and optical medical insurance with Vitality (for when life gives you lemons)

• And of course, staff perks include free drinks!

At EXALT, we don't just talk the talk, we sashay down the runway of inclusivity!

We're in the business of cultivating a team culture as diverse and vibrant as our cold-pressed juice rainbow.

We're not about ticking boxes; we're about smashing glass ceilings and empowering everyone to bring their fabulous selves to the table.

From race and ethnicity to gender and sexual orientation, and all the fabulous flavours in between, discrimination has zero nutrients in our recipe for success.

We're whipping up an environment where you don't just fit in; you belong, front and centre. And that's not just corporate speak, that's the EXALT way!

  • 5 mins 'hello' video call with the Founders (Charlie & Dan)
  • Take-home exercise (max 1 hour)
  • In-person interview with Charlie & Dan, present your exercise, and meet the team
  • Video interview with one/two board members
