Independent and well established professional practice firm in smart new waterside offices seek two digital client accountants. Key skills (more than qualifications) are a client facing personality and the ability to advise on Xero queries and embryonic AI enhancements like Dext and Fathom as well as other cloud accounting tools. This is the sharp edge and fastest growing sector of the accountancy practice marketplace. You will enjoy managing client relationships as much as getting the numbers right. You'll take ownership of a portfolio, become the go to adviser for your clients, and help deliver a modern service using cloud accounting, reporting tools, and practical automation / AI assisted workflows.

For the managerial role it is a senior, client facing role where you'll combine technical delivery with relationship ownership. You'll work closely with clients to understand what matters to them, keep work moving smoothly, and spot opportunities to improve their finance processes and reporting.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact - building trusted, long term relationships.
  • Leading delivery: preparing/reviewing accounts and related compliance work, ensuring accuracy, deadlines and a consistently high standard.
  • Providing proactive advice - translating numbers into clear actions and helping clients make better decisions (not just reporting history).
  • Producing (and improving) management accounts, reporting packs and dashboards where valuable for clients.
  • Driving great client experience: anticipating questions, resolving issues quickly, and keeping communication clear and professional.
  • Supporting client onboarding and improvements: helping clients adopt cloud tools and better ways of working (including sensible automation).
  • Reviewing and mentoring junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring work is delivered efficiently and correctly.
  • Playing an active part in client retention and growth through excellent service and relationship management.

What you bring:

  • ACA/ACCA part/fully qualified (or equivalent) with experience in a senior accounts' role within practice.
  • Strong client relationship skills - confident communicating, setting expectations and building trust.
  • Solid technical ability and attention to detail, with the judgement to review work and coach others.
  • Comfortable with cloud accounting and modern reporting tools (e.g., Xero/Dext/Fathom or similar).
  • Interest in improving workflows and reducing manual effort using automation / AI supported approaches where appropriate.

Reasons to join the firm:

  • This is a place where great client work and modern ways of working actually go together.
  • You'll have the trust and space to build strong client relationships, deliver a consistently high standard, and improve how work gets done - with a firm that's actively investing in a modern approach.

What you'll get (the good stuff):

  • Real progression: a clear pathway towards Client Manager roles, with regular 1 2 1s and development reviews to keep things moving.
  • Modern working support: ongoing investment in technology and process improvements so you can spend more time advising clients and less time battling admin.
  • Balance that actually works: a 37.5 hour week, flexible start/finish times, and 28 days' holiday (including statutory days) with the option to buy more.
  • Reward and security: annual bonus scheme, pension and life assurance (2x salary).
  • A team you'll enjoy working with: a collaborative, supportive culture and regular social events (summer + Christmas celebrations).

The salary range for this firm includes bonus elements but is negotiable based on experience so applications are encouraged from candidates fully eligible to work in the UK. To apply for the role please send in your CV with a short covering note about why you are suitable. Applications from both commerce and practice are encouraged. Please include details of your current package (basic and bens), notice period and reason for leaving.
