About the Role
We are supporting a global iGaming operations and technology company in the search for an experienced Legal Counsel to strengthen its regulatory, licensing, and operational legal function. This role is critical to supporting licensed iGaming activities across Ontario (AGCO/iGO) and MGA-regulated jurisdictions, while advising on cross-border operations, commercial agreements, and regulatory compliance for a multi-market business. The successful candidate will work closely with Compliance, Operations, Product, and Executive teams, acting as a trusted legal advisor across both strategic and day-to-day matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice related to Ontario iGaming (AGCO / iGaming Ontario) and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) regulatory frameworks.
- Support licensing applications, renewals, variations, and ongoing regulatory obligations.
- Interpret and translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for internal teams.
- Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and compliance advisors as required.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Advise on operational legal risks across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support global expansion initiatives with jurisdiction-specific legal input.
- Partner with Compliance teams to ensure alignment between legal interpretation and operational implementation.
- Support internal policies related to AML, responsible gaming, data protection, and operational governance.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively assess the impact on the business.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in iGaming / online gambling, ideally within a B2B platform or operations-focused business.
- Hands-on experience with Ontario iGaming licensing.
- Strong working knowledge of MGA regulations and EU-regulated iGaming environments.
- Experience supporting global or multi-jurisdictional operations.
- In-house legal experience within a scaling or fast-paced tech/iGaming business.
